Church History

The history of a church is really the history of its people and their walk with the Lord. Pastor Gary has been in the ministry since 1966. He and his wife, Delores, have been ministering together since 1971. They have pastored four churches and founded two of these. The summer of 1989 found them in the north Dallas area, along with a committed group of people who were seeking a deeper relationship with Jesus. A decision was made to continue the journey together and a new church was started.

After much prayer and deliberation, the name Citipointe was agreed upon. Pointe spelled with an "e" speaks of the advanced-most position in a military campaign. Citipointe was to be a pointe of entry into the city.

The church met in several locations between 1989 and 1992. Then from the summer of 1992 through December of 2002, Citipointe met in a facility in Richardson. Since the most recent move, there has been a steady development of call, vision, and direction. The vision is now clear and the plans established. The leadership has been tried, tested, and found true. The heart of the people is to reach out to the city, bringing hope and life to all of Dallas. The vision soon broadened to reach the world. God has opened doors to minister and touch lives in Argentina, Nepal, Africa, Russia, Mexico, Australia, India, China, Ireland, Portugal, Japan, England and Poland. The doors continue to open to minister in other parts of the world as well.

The immediate goals of the church are in the hundreds with long-term goals in the hundreds of thousands. At the present time the Lord is launching an international teaching ministry with the Pastors.

You are invited to be a part of this exciting vision and call --- to be a pointe of entry for the power of God!
